Photographs
This exhibition highlights the work of three North Carolina photographers in mid-career who possess a mastery of craft, consistency of vision and personal style. Maia Dery's gelatin silver prints of forest glades and coastal tidewaters situate her firmly within the grand tradition of American landscape photography. Cathryn Griffin's color photographs of everyday life in small rural communities use subtle juxtapositions to weave a visual narrative revelatory of larger cultural concerns. Louanne Watley's iconic tintypes and collographs of the same young boy explore the relationship between physical and psychological states.
