Beyond Africa: Cultural Influences in American Art was a visual arts exhbition open to African American arts from all ove rhte United States.  The exhibition showcased a broad cross section of contemporary African American artists and their contributions to the current American art scene.  The exhibition was presented in the galleries of the African American Atlier, Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art, and Greensboro Artists League, locted in the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 North Davie Street.

Beyond Africa was presented in conjunction with the 8th Annual African American Arts Festival produced by the United Arts Countil of Greensboro sponsored by Miller Brewing Company.  This exhbiition was supported by grants from the African American Arts Festival and the United Arts Council Community Cultural Projects.
