This exhibition of 15 contemporary printmakers is curated by Bill Fick. A Chapel Hill native, Fick has taught printmaking at many institutions across the United States (most recently at Pratt Institute and UNCG). In 1993, Fick was awarded a National Endowment of the Arts Visual Artist Fellowship and in 1995 a North Carolina Arts Council Fellowship. His work can be found in the collections of the Fogg Art Museum; Harvard University; The New York Public Library and the Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University. Fick is director of Cockeyed Press which specializes in satirical linocut prints.

Printed: Contemporary Prints and Books by North Carolina Artists intends to showcase the variety of prints, printed materials, multiples, and books produced by a wide array of artists, art collectives, and studios here in North Carolina. Because of the broad scope of the show, visitors will learn the intricacies of many traditional printmaking techniques and also see how these traditional methods can lead to a wide range of experimental art making practices.
