GreenHill 50th Anniversary Portfolio Exhibition Opens August 29th

In honor of GreenHill’s 50th anniversary, GreenHill Center for North Carolina Art is thrilled to announce the limited edition sale of 25 hand bound portfolio boxes each containing ten artworks, created by a group of exceptional North Carolina artists and curated by Edie Carpenter to commemorate GreenHill’s past 50 years.
The 25 art portfolios launched at GreenHill's 50th anniversary gala on May 9 and remain on sale to the state’s art collectors for $2,000 each.

GreenHill’s portfolio includes:

- multiples by printmakers Mary Beth Boone, Bill Fick, and Christopher Holston. Boone and Fick’s richly colored multi-passage relief and screenprints depict native birds and plants while Holston’s abstract composition evokes a celebratory terrain.

- Photographers Elizabeth Matheson and Gadisse Lee conjure dream-like images of a window open to the sea or a young woman reaching for a flaming flower.

- Landscape painter Alberto Ortega’s night scene with picket fence is a limited edition reproduction of his exquisite oil paintings.

- Heather Gordon and Chad Cartwright (CHD:WCK!) each present graphic reconfigurations of texts.

- In exception to most portfolios, Kiki Farish’s drawings and Marguerite Jay Gignoux’s textile collages are unique, each piece conceived and produced for this commemorative collection.
