INTERNATIONAL ARTIST FINDS CUTTING EDGE IN NC : SALLY RESNIK ROCKRIVER

I grow geological formations at 2000 degrees during the glass blowing process. Chemical reactions create a new world that we might find on another planet. Although reminiscent of  underwater lifeforms and the earth's geology, the work is not an imitation of life. It is a scientific formation of an undiscovered possibility.

Greenhill has a museum-level space that echoes of the New York Gallery world. The curators selected work for my exhibitions that offered the local audience a view of "Avant Garde" Contemporary Art. Jewel Volcanoes was part of the Regrowth exhibition at Greenhill in 2008:

Jewel Volcanoes, glass with ceramic glazes, 15" x 30" x 15"

These pictures are previews of my upcoming solo exhibition, Unfound (Geochemistry of the Universe), at Gallery C in Raleigh, NC. Unfound will run from October 4th - November 8th, and will be open during two First Fridays in Raleigh.

Galaxy, Blown Glass, Ceramic Glaze, Furnace Parts, 36" x 32" x 20" Discovery: Spaceship Wreckage, Blown Glass, Ceramic
Glazes, Salt Explosion, Furnace Shelf,
38" x 28" x 20"
