Taking the human figure as their focal point, the seven artist in The Figure: Expressions of Spirituality explored themes of mortality, religious faith, love, alienation and self-destruction in an examination of common humanity. The seven artists included Denyce Brooks, James Byrne, Denise Landi Dodge, Al Frega, Be Gadiner, Jack Stratton and Dennis Zaborowski. "The artists in the this exhbition explore the psychology of human interaction by manipulation of the medium, as if the process of creation and the evolution of the work comprised a spiritual journey leading to self discovery. But their work is farm from didactic. For these artists the meaning of life is left deliveratly ambiguous and mysterious." - Jennifer Moore, Curator.
