Allegorical Realism

 

Allegorical Realism highlights the works of four North Carolina painters: Virginia Derryberry, Henryk Fanatzos, Jack Ketner, and Mark Kingsley. These artists share an interest in representing the human figure in landscapes that are mysterious, surreal, impossible, and fantastic. Their works suggest enigmatic narratives that expand beyond the borders of the canvas and encourage viewers to engage in creative interpretations.
