MISSION + VISION

MISSION

The mission of GreenHill is to promote the visual arts of North Carolina.

VISION

To be the preeminent contemporary visual art center celebrating North Carolina’s art and culture.

OUR HISTORY

Since 1974, GreenHill has served over a million visitors and shown the work of over 10,350 artists, and has been a vibrant cultural cornerstone to our community. Incorporated as the Green Hill Art Gallery, artists and ardent arts supporters founded GreenHill as a space for professional artists with a statewide mission of supporting North Carolina artists. First located at the Sternberger House on Summit Avenue, GreenHill has moved three times since; to the old News and Record building (i.e., Greensboro Cultural Center), then, while it was being renovated, to 327 South Elm Street, and finally back to our current home, the Greensboro Cultural Center at 200 North Davie Street.
