How, you ask? She makes pottery cabochons by layering glazes and creating one of kind stones that mimic natural stones. Sometimes it is very hard to distinguish which stones are made by Jennie and which are naturally occurring, COOL!  "My ...

ARTIST OF THE MONTH: JENNIE LORETTE KEATTS

JANUARY | ARTIST OF THE MONTH | CHUCK WALDROUP  Wow- what a December! I couldn't quite fit AOTM in my schedule, but I'm back full force for the new year. January goes to Chuck Waldroup of High Point, NC. Chuck submitted his work through GreenHill's online submission process and I knew immediately that he'd be a great fit in The Shop. I chose Chuck because he makes quality work and has a great eye for character- all of his pieces are beautifully unique. As you read below, you'll learn that woodworking takes a mountain of patience and a truckload of follow through (excuse the pun). Woodworking is a lifestyle and it's intriguing to learn what all goes into it.  Where did ...

06/08/2015
ARTIST OF THE MONTH: JENNIE LORETTE KEATTS

ARTIST OF THE MONTH: JENNIE LORETTE KEATTS

Last April, Greenhill’s two-day NC Art Outreach Project posed a friendly challenge to North Carolina-based artists. We called for artist participation from anyone who wanted to share twenty works in a pecha kucha formatted presentation and receive critical feedback on their work. Here were some of the afterthoughts from those involved:  “I thought you put together a wonderful program--it was focused, concentrated but not overwhelming. I thought it was very well done and I very much enjoyed it.” –Lilly Wei, Panelist, NC Art Outreach Project “The NC Art Outreach Project was what I'd call cheerfully grueling.” –Peter Plagens, ...
