Arts & Wellness | Creativity for Well-being
Third Thursdays from 5:30-7:00 PM
GreenHill supports the development of the life-long learner through creative programs that foster personal wellness. Arts & Wellness classes are for participants who seek to nourish their creativity through hands-on art activities designed to inspire mindfulness and community fellowship. Each session will begin with a group check-in, followed by art making and creative expression followed by a guided tour of the exhibition in The Gallery. Participants of all artistic backgrounds and abilities are welcomed and will be guided through the creative process.
February 16 | The Art of Meditation: Creating Clay Finger Labyrinths
Get creative in the clay garden and explore the soothing process of hand building techniques. Participants will be guided through the process of creating a finger labyrinth out of clay to use as a meditation tool or to give as a gift. You can “walk” your labyrinth with your fingers while centering yourself in a meditative practice. The labyrinth will be formed the night of the class and arrangements will be made with the instructor for firing and glazing for an additional fee.
March 16 | Drawing as Creative Mindfulness
The process of drawing can lead us into a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us. Participants will be guided through simple meditation and drawing exercises to discover a path to creative mindfulness. Blind Contour drawing, Zentangle and sketching from still life scenes will be introduced for participants to experience.
